Walter Johnson, Jr. was born September 17th, 1951, in Lake City, Florida to Walter Johnson Sr. and Mary Etta Jones. Walter attended public schools in Lake City, Florida until he graduated in 1969. Upon graduation he enlisted into the U.S. Army, where he served as various capacities such as Drill Sergeant until he retired in 1998 as a Senior NCO. In 2010, he joined the Church of Latter-Day Saints, where he served faithfully.
Walter preceded in death by his father Walter Johnson, Sr., mother Mary Etta Jones Thomas, and his brother Robert Thomas. Walter leaves to mourn his wife Roseline Emmanuel Johnson, Wally Johnson (son), Rodney Charles (son), three brothers Dennis Johnson (Clynell), Eugene Johnson (Ozzie), Kenneth Thomas (Cynthia), and two sisters Annette Oliver (Leodis) and Cassandra Thomas.
Walter was a member of the American Legion Post #197, NAACP Jacksonville Branch, Jupiter Lodge #22, Orlando, FL-Most Worshipful Union Grand Lodge-PHA, A.J. Junius Chapter #70-Holy Royal Arch Masons, Alpha & Omega Court #210- Heroines of Jericho, North Florida Council #1-Royal & Select Masters, S.M. Davis Commandery #99-Knights Templar, Tillman Valentine Consistory#22- 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason, and Rabia Temple #8-A.E.N.O.M.S.-PHA.
