Born on October 28, 1943 as the son of Elizabeth “Betty” Arnold King and Clarence Gregg King, Jr., Wade is survived by his wife Ashley Wilson King, daughters Ashley Adele Harris of Virginia Beach, VA and Sabrie Wilson King (Adam Grant) of Jacksonville, FL, son Patrick Wade King (Kelley Moult) of Cape Town, South Africa, and seven grandchildren Christian and Hailey Shaffer in Virginia; Addison, Elizabeth, and Emma Grace Moles in Florida; and Leila and Zara King in South Africa. Wade is also survived by his sister Carole King Mehrtens (Nick) and two nephews Michael and Ted Abney and families.
Wade attended Robert E. Lee High School as part of the Class of 1961 then graduated from Gordon Military Academy in Barnsville, GA. Following, he attended the University of Florida and Jacksonville University then served his country as a member of the Coast Guard before entering the professional world of banking.
A memorial service will take place at a later date followed by a spreading of his ashes and final resting in a family cemetery on Wadmalaw Island, South Carolina.
