Virginia Ann Merritt of Jacksonville, FL passed away June 23, 2016. She was born to Barney and Verna Clark on May 25, 1933 in Ashland, KY. Employed by the Postal Inspector Service, she retired after many years of loyal service. Virginia finally met the love of her life, Herbert Hadley Merritt, and was married in 1966. She was preceded in death by her husband Hadley and her daughter Kim Chatfield Rhoades. Virginia is survived by her daughter Judith Ann Merritt Smith (Robert) of St. George, UT, son and caregiver Herbert Hadley Merritt, Jr. of Jacksonville, FL, son Charles Chatfield (Janet) of Ashland, KY, son Robert Chatfield, son-in-law Ronald Rhoades (Kim) and grandson Christopher Rudy Rhoades (Kaylia) of Lexington, KY, granddaughter Courtney Chatfield-Joyce (Nicholas) and only beloved great grandson Micah Joyce of Ashland, KY. Virginia will be laid to rest with her husband at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
