Born and raised in Providence, RI., Vicky was the eldest daughter of the late Leo A. and Dorothy Banti... and the sister of Leo J. Banti, Christina Banti and the late Donna Davis. She displayed love from an early age for family, friends, and animals…including multiple beloved pets. Vicky attended both Catholic and public schools…graduating from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1977. Soon after, she moved to Waltham, MA for a short period of time and worked at BayBanks. Her travels then took her to Virginia, where she lived and worked for a short time in both Norfolk and Virginia Beach. Within a few years, she had relocated to Jacksonville, Florida, where she began her long career at Blue Cross Blue Shield FL., and also earned a degree from Florida State College Jacksonville. She always kept a close connection to her RI roots, and loved to spend time with family, including her RI and MA nieces and nephews Amanda, Erica and Luke.
I met Vicky at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in 1997. We became friends and coordinated activities with other church singles groups for dances, parties and having got together at local restaurants.
After getting to know each other a while, we fell in love and we were inseparable for three years. I proposed to Vicky on Oct.3, 1999 sitting on the sea wall behind the old fort in St. Augustine on a cloudless night overlooking the river. She was emotional and said, yes. We were married on September 9, 2000.
We enjoyed traveling to Daytona Beach and staying at the Hampton on the beach, staying at all the Hilton Grand Vacation resorts in Orlando and going on cruises exploring the different ports in the Caribbean Sea.
I will never forget Vicky as long as I live. I loved her more than anything in the world. Vicky was my North Star and kept me out of harm’s way.
Rest in peace my love for one day I will make the same journey and we will be together again in heaven for eternity.
