Theresa "Jo" Rodgers

Theresa Josephine ‘Jo’ Brown Rodgers passed away December 9, 2014 at Westminster Woods on Julington Creek after an extended illness. Jo was born on March 20, 1933, in Louisville, KY to Durward and Genevieve Brown. She graduated from Ursuline Academy in Louisville. She moved to Jacksonville with her husband in 1980. She retired from Johnson & Johnson in 1993. Throughout her life, Jo was happiest when she was surrounded by her family. She was predeceased by her husband, Bill, in January of 1985. She is survived by four daughters – Lynn Rodgers (Dennis), LuAnn West (Dale), Debbie Ghourley (Jimmie), and Denise Henderson (Vic), two sons – Glyn Rodgers (Debbie), and Jim Rodgers (Tracey), two sisters – Janie Smith and Elsie Boyd (Calvin). Jo also leaves behind 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 8:00 Friday evening, December 12, 2014 at Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Chapel. The funeral service will be held at Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Chapel at 10:00 Saturday morning, December 13, 2014. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Northeast Florida Community Hospice, 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, FL 32257. HARDAGE-GIDDENS, THE OAKLAWN CHAPEL, 4801 San Jose Boulevard, is serving the family.
