Ruth Greene Washington was born on February 11, 1924, and went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 16, 2013. Ruth was born and lived in Jacksonville her entire life. She was a 1942 graduate of Andrew Jackson High School and member of The National Honor Society. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and an active member of the Ruth Bible class. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Herbert J. Washington, son Bruce Washington (Pat),daughter Kay Wells (Norman), granddaughter Kim Holt (Colby),grandson Connor Wells, two great grandchildren, Shane Weeks, and Casey Holt, and very special friend Shirley Hastings. Funeral arrangements are being entrusted to Hardage-Giddens Town and Country Funeral Home located at 7242 Normandy Boulevard, Jacksonville FL 32205. Visitation will be Saturday April 20,2013 from 9:00 – 9:30 AM, with interment immediately following in Riverside Memorial Park.
