Ronald Edward Johnson

Ronald “Ron” Johnson passed away peacefully at his home in Jacksonville, FL, on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at 3:45 a.m., surrounded by his beloved wife and close friends who had cared for him during his final months. His wife stayed by his side until the very end, which reflects the deep bond they shared throughout their lives. A dedicated husband, father, and grandfather, Ron was a man of few words, but his actions always spoke louder. A biologist by profession, his greatest passion was collecting cars, which he pursued with the same care and precision he brought to all aspects of his life. Though not outwardly affectionate, Ron had a unique way of showing love, quietly caring for his family in deeply felt ways.

Ron preferred solitude and had a few close friends, enjoying the quiet moments where his thoughtful and intriguing mind could wander. He was always willing to lend a hand around the house, taking pride in fixing things himself and showing his love through meaningful gestures rather than words.

A longtime resident of Gainesville and Jacksonville, Ron is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren and friends. His quiet strength, fascinating mind, and steadfast care for his loved ones will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

A visitation for Ronald will be held Saturday, September 14, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Hardage - Giddens Greenlawn Funeral Home, 4300 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207. A funeral service and committal will follow, starting at 10:00 AM.
