He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was born on July 8, 1930 in New Orleans, Louisiana; the eldest child of Peter and Johanna Cosentino. He was the loving husband of Evelyn McCloud Cosentino for 48 years. Pete was a devout Catholic since childhood.
Pete was a fighter pilot in the US Air Force and retired as a Major. He was also a pilot for the State of Alabama Forestry Department and flew several Alabama governors during his tenure. Later on he was a pilot for Winn Dixie and also worked with Jim Walter Papers as a pilot and marketing manager.
He was predeceased by both of his parents, one sister, Rose Cosentino Rau, and one brother, Anthony Cosentino. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Cosentino, his brother Joseph Cosentino, daughters Cindy Wheeler (Duane) Lisa Kervin, and Lynn Cosentino. Survivors also include nine grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Robbie Flomer, Justin Wheeler, Matthew Kervin, Brian Flomer, Caleb Thomas, and Luke Thomas.
Visitation will be held Monday June 15, 2020 at 1:30pm followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00pm with a final graveside committal at 3:00pm at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery located at 7242 Normandy Boulevard, Jacksonville, Florida 32205.
