Patricia "Pat" M. Carter

Pat was born in Vicksburg, MS to Ottis and Addie Mae Miller as the fourth of eight children. Her family moved back to Florida when she was still an infant. She graduated from Terry Parker High School in 1958. After many years of service, she retired from IBM as a Senior Customer Support Representative.

She was predeceased by her parents, three brothers and the love of her life, husband, S. Russell Carter Sr. She is survived by two sisters, Myra Gardner of Tampa, Fl; Janice Bowers of St. Johns, FL and two brothers, Richard Miller of Melrose, FL; Larry Miller (Iris) of Middleburg, FL. She also leaves behind two children, Cathy Carter Hilliard (Ronnie) of Jacksonville; S. Russell Carter, Jr. (Courtney) of Welaka, FL; seven grandchildren, six great-grand children, many nieces, nephews and lots of friends.

Pat was an avid traveler, traveling all over the world by plane, cruise ship, train, or any other mode of transportation. She also enjoyed golfing, darts, playing cards and Cribbage. She was a member of many organizations, including Mandarin Moose Lodge and the Daughters of the Nile, Mandarin Chapter. Her membership with the Order of the Eastern Star and Florida Tackle and Gun Club extended to over fifty years with each.

A Celebration of her life will be held at the Florida Tackle and Gun Club on San Jose Blvd. from 5 PM to 7 PM, Wednesday afternoon on September 25th. Immediately following, all are invited to enjoy a meal with the family at the club.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the Florida Tackle and Gun Club and the Daughters of the Nile, Mandarin Chapter for their assistance with providing the facility and food for this event. Also, the family would like to thank Community Hospice for offering their love and care for our beloved Pat.
