Olen Kenneth Campbell, 86, passed away at his home, with his family at his side on October 13, 2013.He was born to Thomas Campbell and Gussie Harris on October 10, 1927 in Waverly, Florida.as a young man he attended Robert E. Lee High School and then graduated from Bolles Military Academy in 1945, and joined the U. S. Navy. He was a long standing member of Riverside Baptist Church. Along with the love of his life, and his wife of 67 years, Sybil they owned and operated Olen’s Fine Shoes first in Five Points and later in Orange Park. He and Sybil retired to Keystone Heights in 1997, where he contributed to his community as President of the Lake Brooklyn Civic Association. Olen loved to spend time wood working and remodeling motor homes. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by an infant son Thomas Eugene, and granddaughter Kelly Michelle Campbell. Olen is survived by his lovely wife Sybil Fowler Campbell, daughters Patty and Shirlee Campbell; sons Michael (Donna) Campbell; Stephen Campbell (Dr. David O’Dell); and grand daughter Sarah Campbell, grandsons Adam and Jason Campbell. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Hardage-Giddens Town and Country Funeral Home located at 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jax. FL 32205. A private visitation will be held, Thursday October 17, 2013, followed by a Graveside Funeral service open to all friends and family starting at noon at Riverside Memorial Park. Following the committal service, the family will be providing fellowship in the Life Celebration facility at Hardage-Giddens.
