Naomi K. Stancil

Naomi K. Stancil, 95, passed away on July 24, 2015 at Custead Care Center-Haven Hospice. She was born in Moultrie, GA on April 23, 1920 to Will Knight and Sarah Clark Knight, who both preceded her in death. Naomi loved everyone and everyone she met loved her. She was kind, thoughtful, generous and a lifelong servant of the Lord. If someone needed a shirt, she would give them what she could. She was known as a Saint to her family, friends and people who got to know her. Naomi was outgoing, loved the outdoors, fun-loving and friendly. She loved her family and was a devoted, caring and nurturing mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Naomi is remembered for warmth, gentle touch and kisses. As a child and young woman, she worked on the family farm with all livestock – horses, cows, chickens, etc. She worked as an LPN taking care of patients in hospitals and their homes. During World War II she was a true patriot serving the United States building airplane engines – a true “Rosie the Riveter”. In fact, she worked two jobs throughout her working years to support her family and was a great cook. She is predeceased by her husband; sisters – Lucille Harris, Virginia Bishop; and her brother – Lilious Knight; and her son – Jerome Jordan. She is survived by her sister Carnelia “Connie” Johnson. She is survived by her children; Arthur Stancil, Jr; Patricia Stancil; Paul Jordon and Eurtice Jordon. Naomi has 13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends and loved ones for a visitation on Monday, July 27 from 6:00 -8:00 pm at Hardage- Giddens Town and Country Funeral Home. The funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, July 28 at 10:30 at Paxon Revival Center at 5461 Commonwealth Ave. with the interment immediately following at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park.
