Nancy A. Coutros, 87, passed away on June 12, 2018. She was born in Weirton, WV (parents George and Diane Augerinos), lived in Baltimore for 60 years, and moved to Jacksonville in 2000. While living in Baltimore, Nancy was very active in choir and taught Sunday school at The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral. She earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s in education from Towson University and The Johns Hopkins University, respectively, and taught third grade for 28 years in Baltimore City. After retiring from teaching in 1989, she volunteered for 12 years at Greater Baltimore Medical Center.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband Peter Coutros (married 52 years), siblings Catherine Petrides (Peter), Steve Augerinos (Norma), Marcia Isner, and Katherine Evans (Arthur). Survivors include her sons, Nicholas Peter Coutros and George Peter Coutros (Natalie), grandson Nicholas Peter Coutros, sister, Georgia Lacson, and numerous other relatives.
Funeral Services will be held at 10am on Friday June 15, 2018 at St. John the Divine Church, 3850 Atlantic Blvd. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7pm until 9pm on Thursday June 14th at St. John the Divine Church. A Trisagion Service will begin at 7pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Northeast Florida Community Hospice or St. John the Divine Greek Orthodox Church.
