Mike Shepard

Mike was known for his kind and compassionate nature, despite his rough exterior. He possessed a gentle and caring heart, always ensuring he called his momma at least once a week. His consideration for others never wavered, as he was a devoted friend and a dedicated father who believed in lifelong friendships. Whenever there was a need, Mike was always there, ready to lend a helping hand. He found comfort in the company of animals and the beauty of the outdoors. Moreover, his passion for cooking was only surpassed by his strong work ethic, earning him a reputation as a highly respected professional in his field.

Throughout his life, Mike held various positions, including a cook at Sawgrass Country Club, a front-load truck driver at Southland Waste and Advance Disposal for many years, and a short stint driving a dump truck at Whitener's.

On May 26, 2023, Mike accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Today, he rests in eternal peace with his beloved Savior.

Mike leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Briana Shepard and Charles Snyder; stepdaughter, Jennifer Smith; stepson, Zach David Smith; mother, Glenda DuPont; sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Clyde Read; sister, Kathy Shepard; granddaughters, Riley Snyder and Madison Rae Clark; grandsons, Nicholas Robert Wood and Christian Snyder; best friend for many years, Rick Walton; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who were touched by his presence.

May we forever hold dear the memory of Michael Allen Shepard, a remarkable man who brought kindness and compassion to all who knew him.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, June 29, 2023 from 5pm to 7pm at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 30, 2023 at Hardage Giddens Riverside at 10am, with burial following at 11am at Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205.
