Marty had a high school education but was self-taught in regards to his professional life. He began his career sandblasting and painting where he traveled around the country. He would later start a pressure washing business in the early 80’s, cleaning shipping containers for Crowley Maritime into the 90’s and pressure washing commercial oven hoods in restaurants all throughout Jacksonville. He eventually ended his pressure washing career after almost 20 years, retiring in the early 2000’s. During his retirement years he became an official certified Boston terrier dog breeder.
Marty loved his wife, family, friends and his dogs. He enjoyed spending time with his family, singing karaoke and watching NASCAR.
Marty is preceded in death by his father, Mark Julian Perry.
He is survived by his wife, Elma Jean Perry, his children, Chris Perry, Amber Perry and Julian Perry, his mother, Miriam Joyce Harper Perry, Brother, Steve Perry, Sister, Frances Battle, more than 10 grandchildren, at least 5 great grandchildren and countless nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Marty will be held Saturday, April 27, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home, 850 St Johns Bluff Road North, Jacksonville, FL 32225. A celebration of life will occur Saturday, April 27, 2024 at 11:00 AM, 850 St Johns Bluff Road North, Jacksonville, FL 32225. A committal service will occur Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Chapel Hills Memory Gardens, 850 St Johns Bluff Road North, Jacksonville, FL 32225.
