Martha Ann Wylie Hale, 92, of Jacksonville, FL went to heaven June 14, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lola Timbs Wylie and Urban Francis Wylie; husband, Conrad Hale; and sisters, Mary Frances Wylie Jones and Eunice Wylie Doty. She is survived by children, Karen Heim (David), Sandra Hollensead (Paul), Barney Hale (Linda), and Camille Quartz; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. A life-long Presbyterian, she served as Sunday School teacher, deacon, and elder. Born prematurely in her home on a farm in Brighton, TN, she survived with loving care from her parents. She attended University of Tennessee and received a B.S. in Home Economics specializing in Food/Nutrition. She met Conrad at a UT Valentine’s dance; they were married 64 years, and traveled the world together. Martha was gifted with the ability to play piano by ear; creating music programs for preschool children in Louisville, KY and UNF. In later years, she was a resident of Westminster Woods Julington Creek, demonstrating a sweet and cheerful spirit that was a testimony to her love of God and others. Visitation will be Saturday, July 29, from noon until time of Memorial Service at 2:00 pm, reception to follow, all at Geneva Presbyterian Church, 1755 State Rd 13, Saint Johns, FL 32259. Donations in Martha’s memory may be made to the Conrad and Martha Hale memorial fund, Geneva Presbyterian Church.
