Marie - My Sweet Sister 

Marie was my big sister who looked after me. She was very loving and kind. She was serious and being the eldest - was the dependable one. 

We were always very close. Growing up we shared a room.  Our mother dressed us like twins on special occasions. We took tap dance lessons together and performed at the Florida Theatre. 

At one time we worked together at the Juvenile Court. She impressed my coworkers who thought she was given the job because of me. She was an excellent secretary and went on to be the top secretary of the Internal Revenue. 

Marie and Giff  often had our families together at their home for special occasions - making it even more special. 

Marie has been our matriarch who kept our families in contact with each other. She was always interested in what was happening in each of the children's lives. Each felt so close to Marie because she was interested and concerned about them. She had a sincere sweetness, making it easy to love her. 

Recently I told her what a wonderful sister she has been and she said "I hope so" and loving called me Kitty Cat. 

She was such a loving and caring sister. I have a lifetime of wonderful memories. Memories that will live in my heart forever.

My Aunt Marie- Always a joy to be with and always opening her home for family holiday gatherings. She genuinely cared about each and everyone of us. She would always ask about how things in my life were going. She asked about things she knew were important to me - my career, my new home and even my dog. She had a gift of making me and everyone feel very special. I will always love you my sweet Aunt Marie. Rest in Peace. Love and prayers to my Mom and to my cousins Vicky and Julie and their families.

When I was around three years old, I stayed with ReeRee and Pop Pop for about a week while my parents moved all of our things into our new house.  After my parents came to pick me up, after many hugs, kisses, etc we went on our way.  I sat in the back seat of the car, looking straight ahead, and said "Who were those nice people?"  Pop Pop sent that story into the paper because he thought it was so hysterical.

My memories are filled with many amazing times surrounding holidays and birthdays with ReeRee and Pop Pop.  ReeRee always made sure we had personalized Christmas presents and Easter baskets for all of my cousins and I.  She was the sweetest grandmother and never wanted anyone to ever feel left out.

Aunt Marie, my sweet, kind, thoughtful, loving Aunt and friend!   I have so many wonderful memories that I will keep in my heart forever! I miss you and love you with all my heart, Aunt Marie!  Earth's loss is heaven's gain!  Love, Your niece, Kim

Dear Vickie and Julie, our hearts are saddened by the passing of your sweet mom, Marie. We have loved all of you for so many years and appreciated your friendship as we all lived in this wonderful neighborhood. May Marie rest in peace and may each of you be strengthened by remembering those happy days

My childhood is filled with memories of the times all of the neighborhood kids congregated at the Rhodes home. Mrs. Rhodes was so welcoming, always putting up with a bunch of rambunctious kids. Bless her and the Rhodes family during this time.

I miss my dear sweet ReeRee already. Thank you so much for sharing her with me... I will never forget her, our fun, laughs, sillyness, and friendship. Rest now ReeRee. God bless you!

Marie was a wonderful friend and neighbor to me.  She was so kind and had a wonderful sense of humor.  I pray that the Lord will pour out His Grace mightily upon you at this time.
