Linda Denise Ginsburg

Linda was born in Southfield, Michigan just outside of Detroit. Upon graduating high school, she left home alone traveled to Israel with $500.00 in her pocket. A few days after arriving, the Yom Kippur war began. Linda was sent to a farm to work away from the war. She attended Jerusalem University and later studied hotel and restaurant management. Linda found employment at the Sheraton Hotel in Tel Aviv and soon became the manager of the restaurant and bar. She spent 10 years living in Israel. She quit her job and traveled much of the southeastern world including backpacking through India for a year. Her travels took her to Australia, Singapore and Tibet. Her thirst for travel never stopped. She returned to the States and was offered a McDonald’s management job in Jacksonville. She became a district manager for the franchise owner. After several years at McDonalds, Linda decided to go to University of North Florida where she received a degree with honors in computer sciences. After a year in the computer world, Linda being a people person, became an office manager for Natural Look, a medical spa. At the same time, Linda was the president of the HOA of IL Villagio for most of the 17 years she owned rental condos. Her spare time was spent hiking, camping, kayaking and traveling with a group known as Trail Blazers. She found happiness during this time of her life until she was diagnosed with stage four cancer.

Linda is predeceased by her biological father Dr. Esmond Braun of Portland, Oregon and her mother Phyllis Kusnetz of Southfield, Michigan. Linda is survived by her husband, Ted Ginsburg, step-father Harold Kusnetz, sisters Dr. Ada Kusnetz-Yerman, Michigan, Dr. Norma Kusnetz, Winter Park, Florida, Dr. Lisa Braun Solway, Michigan, Eden S. Braun, New Jersey, brother Dr. Elliot “Isser” Kusnetz, Israel and, Keith Braun, cousin Palm Beach, FL, who always stayed in touch with Linda.

Linda’s special friends include Ruth Marwitz, Zissy Pozin, Lynda Avera, Nancy Traver, Eve Aptheker, Sandy Oasis, Marylyn Beird, Jeanne Sandburg, and Carolyn Kantor and many more who made Linda’s last days more pleasant. Tarrasa See, her Oregon college best friend, Louis Elkus, New Jersey, Linda’s devoted friend from high school who loved her like a sister. Teresa Davis-Mills, Natural Look Jacksonville, who painted her toe nails and massaged her feet and hands as Linda spent her last days in hospice.

A funeral service for Linda will be held Wednesday, August 3, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Chapel, 4801 SAN JOSE BLVD, JACKSONVILLE, FL 32207. Following the funeral service will be a committal service from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218.
