Marlene was born July 2, 1944 in Avon Park, FL to parents Henry and Thelma Helton. She was a member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church, and attended Biltmore Baptist Church with her family where she loved to sing in the choir. She was a member of The Revelations, a gospel quartet that performed at various churches across Florida and Georgia. She was a woman of strong faith and always instilled the importance of family, hard work and doing what is right.
She was a kind, caring and giving person who always put the needs of family before her own. She was resilient and faced every challenge in her life with courage and dignity. Whether you knew her as Mom, Nana, Silly Nana, Sister, Aunt or friend, she was a true role model and source of inspiration to everyone whose lives she touched. She was a super fan of every sport or endeavor her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren enjoyed. She yelled the loudest and celebrated the longest.
Marlene was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 33 years, Alvin “Randall” Browning. She is survived by three daughters, Katrina “Trina” Lynn Fuoco (Carl), Laura Lynn Newman (Trey), and Amanda Lynn Wiggins (James), five grandchildren, Randy Newman, Ryan Newman (Nichole), Madison Fuoco, Carl “Bubba” Fuoco, III, James “Will” Wiggins, Jr. and 2 great-grandsons, Landon Newman and Rylan Newman. She also leaves behind four siblings to cherish her memory, Grady Helton (Peggy), Irene Stapleton (Jim), Melinda Dedge (J.M.) and Douglas Helton, as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family.
