Karen Patrick Smither, 56, of St. Augustine, FL passed away on February 17, 2011. Karen was born in Jacksonville, FL on May 29, 1954 to Joseph and Mary Patrick. She was much beloved teacher at St. Augustine High School and had also taught at Neese and Bartram Trail High Schools during her lifelong teaching career. Surviving family members include her father and step-mother, Joseph and Kay Patrick; brother Michael (Julie); sister, Jennifer Diley (Stanley); grandsons, Liam and Hunter; and nephew, Zachary. She is predeceased by her daughter, Amanda Rodriguez and mother, Mary.
Family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm on Tuesday, February 22nd in the Chapel of Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin with the Memorial Service to follow at 7:00 pm with Rev. Jesse Alexander officiating. Memorials may be made to your local Humane Societies/shelters, preferably no-kill facilities.
