Joyce Ann Errico, 62, of Ormond Beach, passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2022 surrounded by family after a hard fought battle with cancer. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she was much loved by her family, friends and coworkers and will be deeply missed.
She was born to Frank and Jean Preblick on October 19, 1959 in Newark, NJ. She attended Archbishop Walsh High School (’77) in Irvington, NJ then received her Undergraduate and Graduate degrees from Seton Hall University in South Orange, NJ.
A resident of Short Hills and Springfield, NJ, life brought her to Jacksonville, FL in 1999, where she raised her two sons, Andrew and Christopher.
In 2003, Joyce met her future husband Mark. They married in 2010 and enjoyed many cherished trips together, especially ones to visit their family in New York and South Carolina.
Joyce fulfilled a lifelong goal of living close to the ocean in Ormond Beach where she and Mark often enjoyed ocean views and scenic drives.
As a nurse of 40 years, Joyce was a devoted caregiver. She found a second calling in education where she obtained a Doctorate in Nursing. She went on to become a Director of Nursing, where she shared her knowledge and experience with thousands of aspiring nurses and proudly had some of the highest pass and placement rates among licensing exams.
She had an amazing attention to detail, a gift for strategic thinking, a great sense of humor and the ability to inspire and develop those in her departments.
Joyce was a longtime member of San Juan del Rio Catholic Church where she served in many ministries including being a Eucharistic minister.
Joyce filled lives with love, generosity and kindness, as well as laughter.
Joyce is survived by her husband Mark Errico; her sons Andrew Elekes, Christopher Elekes, Michael Errico and Marc Errico; her four grandchildren Mary, Kevin, Gabriella and Christian; her sister Deirdre Schultz; and her mother Jean Preblick.

The visitation will be on Friday, February 11, 2022 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 11801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32223. The funeral mass will take place on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 2:00pm at San Juan Del Rio Church, 1718 FL-13, Jacksonville, FL 32259. The burial service will be on Sunday, February 13, 2022 at 10:00am at Ponte Vedra Valley, 4750 Palm Valley Rd Ponte Vedra Beach, FL 32082.
