Joe attended Assumption Catholic School and Bishop Kenny High School. He graduated with a degree in History from University of North Florida. He worked with his family at their heavy equipment businesses, Moody Brothers and MD Moody and Sons, after which he started his own series of companies. A lifetime entrepreneur, his most successful venture was Grippod, his own invention which was produced locally in Jacksonville and sold to multiple branches of the US military and its allies around the world. Considered an expert in the historical and technological aspects of small arms, he regularly contributed to military books and magazines. He also formed a charitable foundation, Return to the Bible, which helped to fund numerous Christian causes internationally. He wrote a Christian book and was never shy in sharing his beliefs. In his free time, Joe enjoyed collecting historical memorabilia, target shooting, driving his Porsche, and eating barbecue with friends and family. He will be greatly missed.
