John T. Boswell, 69, longtime resident of Jacksonville, passed away unexpectedly November 6, 2010. He was born in Macon, GA, son of the late William Charles and Doris (Glisson) Boswell on November 23, 1940.
His career as a pilot in the U.S. Air Force was cut short by a diagnosis of diabetes. For the majority of his business career, he was a national sales executive in the industrial supply field.
As a strong Christian, his Deermeadows Baptist Church family was very important to him. He loved playing string bass in the church orchestra. He enjoyed playing golf with close friends and getting together with fellow Air Force pilot-training classmates whenever possible.
Surviving are his loving wife of 30 years, Donna, his daughter, Elizabeth Kiser, his brother, William C. Boswell Jr. , two grandchildren, Kat Baxter (John), Sharon Kiser, three great-grandchildren, Caden Baxter, Aubrie Baxter and Morgan Kiser, nieces, nephews, cousins and many loving friends. He was very proud of his family and loved them very much.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 from 6 – 8 pm at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 4115 Hendricks Ave., Jacksonville, FL. The Funeral Service will be at 2:00 pm Wednesday, November 10 at Deermeadows Baptist Church, 9780 Baymeadows Road, Jacksonville, FL 32256. Entombment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery on Beach Blvd.
