James was born on August 28th 1959 in Wedowee, Alabama. He graduated from Walter Wellborn High School in Anniston AL, Class of 1977. James then immediately enlisted in the United States Navy where he served for 20 years and retired as Petty Officer First Class. During his time in the Navy he met and married the woman who became his life long love, Cathleen Joy Vaughan on June 14, 1980. He spent the 25 years after the Navy working with his dear friends at Bank of America and taking care of his loving family.
All will remember James as a patriotic person, passionate about Alabama football, good whiskey and grilling amazing food for his family and friends. Many will also remember him as an avid do-it-yourselfer with the ability to fix anything.
James was preceded in death by his father Alexander Perryman. In addition to his wife Cathleen, he is survived by his mother Mary Rebecca Perryman; two sons Matthew James Perryman and Casey Steven Perryman; Brother Derrell Perryman; Sister Donna Espadas; Sister in-law Debra Perryman; Brother in-law Javier Espadas; Daughters in-law Pamela Holmquist and Sandy Chick; Nieces Becky and Allie; and Nephews Jon and Javy.
A visitation for James will be held Friday, September 23, 2022 from 11am to 1pm, with a funeral service at 1pm, at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 11801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32223. A reception will immediately follow.
