Irene Schultz

Irene Tashie Schultz, 76, of Jacksonville, FL, born in Philadelphia, PA on 05 Nov 1941 and formally from Westbury, NY went home to be with our Lord on 03 December 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 49 years, Donald H. Schultz; her father, Demetri Tashie; mother, Eva Sinos Tashie; brothers, John and George Tashie. She devoted her life as a loving wife, mother and grandmother to her husband, three sons and five grandchildren. She retired after 38 years with several banks including Barnett bank and Everbank in Jacksonville. Her hobbies included baking sour cream pound cakes, bird watching, choir, Southern Gospel Music and dancing with her husband. She enjoyed her son’s teenage years coaching them in soccer. She is survived by three sons, James Henry (Donna), Donald Michael and Thomas John (wife, Heather); five grandchildren: Samantha, Nicole, Autumn, James Jr. and Sarah; sisters-in-law: Karen Schultz Walsh (husband, Bill) and Chrisula Tashie; and many loving nieces, nephews and close friends. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Tuesday Dec. 12 in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin. Interment will be held at 10:00am on Weds Dec 13 in Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32218. A Celebration of Irene’s Life will follow at 12(noon) on Weds Dec 13 in Christ Church, 9794 Old St. Augustine Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32257, 904-262-5588.
