Hilda K. Goldstein, age 103, passed away peacefully in Jacksonville, Florida on August 30, 2021. Born in Philadelphia on June 13th, 1918, she was the middle child of Tillie and Louis Katz. She moved to Jacksonville at age 9. Hilda attended Kirby-Smith Junior High and graduated from Andrew Jackson High School.
Hilda was such a sweet, kind, and loving person. She was the heart of her family. She had a quiet nature and was adored by all.
Hilda is predeceased by her husband of 75 years, Maury; sister Ethyl (Teddy) Moscovitz and brother, Captain Bill Katz of Israel. She was a life member of Hadassah, a member of the Jacksonville Jewish Center Sisterhood, as well as, many other charitable organizations.
Other than a homemaker, Hilda was an accomplished bookkeeper, real estate agent, and writer. She enjoyed responding to various editorials in the Times-Union newspaper.
Hilda is survived by her two daughters, Evelyn (Charles) Moskovitz of Jacksonville and Martha (Jack) Killeen of Saint Augustine; four grandchildren Tillie Venus, Todd (Melissa) Wahnish, David Moskovitz, and Dr. Elizabeth (Mark) Brite. In addition, Hilda leaves behind 6 great-grandchildren, Shaman and Maurice Venus, Benjamin and Roxanne Brite, Julia and Eva Wahnish, as well as, many nieces and nephews and their children.
The family wishes to thank administrators and staff of the River Garden Hebrew Home for their wonderful care and upmost devotion throughout the years.
Private services were held on Wednesday, September 1st.
Donations may be made to Hadassah, River Garden Hebrew Home, Jax Jewish Center, or the charity of one's choice.
