Henry Lee Bowman Sr.

Henry L. Bowman, age 87, of Jacksonville, FL passed away on February 24, 2022. He was born in High Point, NC on August 17, 1934 to Samuel Nathan Bowman and Treva Renniger Bowman. Henry served in the U.S. Army from 1955 -1961, being honorably discharged in 1961. During that time, in 1959, he married Barbara Jobe.

Henry was a bus driver for Greyhound Bus Co. and was the owner of Seafarers Marina. He enjoyed fishing, camping, walking, baseball, NASCAR and attending Jazz and Bluegrass music festivals. He attended Garden City Methodist Church and Oceanway Assembly of God.

Survived by wife, Brenda R. Bowman; son, Henry L. Bowman II (Rusty); grandsons, Henry Lee Bowman III (Nikki) and Stephen M. Bowman (Brandi); granddaughter, Lauren N. Rizzi; step-daughters, Gail Alexander and Leslie Massengill; great-granddaughters, Isabelle Bowman and Rosealee Rizzi; great-grandsons, Henry Lee Bowman, IV and Sailor K. Bowman.

He was preceded in death by first wife, Barbara Bowman; and his parents.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 from 5 pm to 8 pm at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at 2 pm at the funeral home with burial to follow at 3 pm.
