Harold “Hal” Irving Hopkins, Jr.—beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Born on September 23, 1946 to Harold Irving Hopkins, Sr. and Josephine Wynne Hopkins, Hal left us unexpectedly on March 11, 2024. Hal enjoyed cheering on the Florida Gators, sipping cocktails, and a round of golf. Hal loved to travel especially to Las Vegas. Hal loved the Beatles and classic rock and was an avid board game player. Hal worked for Winn-Dixie from April 4, 1966 to January 1, 2008 and retired as the Director of Accounting in which he concentrated on retail and merchandise operations. He spent his retirement working on puzzles and teaching his grandson how to play poker. Hal is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Sheryl Hopkins, his daughter Jennifer Hopkins, his son Brett Hopkins, and his sister Janet McCaskill (Barry). Hal was the proud grandfather to Amanda Faverty-Hopkins, Stephanie Faverty-Hopkins, and Gabriel Faverty-Hopkins, and Sawyer Wynne Hopkins as well as the great-grandfather to Arabella, Micah, and Olivia.
