George, often called “Dick”, was born in Poughkeepsie, NY on May 28th, 1931. He spent most of his youth in upstate New York with his mom, Sarah and dad, Wallace. He enlisted in the United States Army in February of 1951. After attending Basic Training, he was selected to attend Officer’s Candidate School where he graduated in 1953 as a second lieutenant. He was selected to serve in the Chemical Corp and was sent to Fort McClellan in Anniston, AL where he met his now deceased wife, Louise Dickinson. In 1954 he was released from active duty to attend college at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He graduated in 1959 with a Chemical Engineering Degree and held his first position at Firestone tire and rubber division. He was later hired by General Electric serving in many different roles, where he retired in 1990. During this time, he also continued to serve his country in the Army Reserves retiring as a Colonel. In retirement he volunteered his time with SCORE as a business mentor and at Westminster Woods, Julington Creek as a project manager with the maintenance division.
Dick was married to his faithful wife, Louise H. Dickinson for over 70 years who also passed this year. George is survived by his loving children Kathy Ann Perkins (Chip), Inwood WV, Gregory Wallace Dickinson (Kristy), Easley SC and Gary Walter Dickinson (Rachel) Peachtree City GA, eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life service will be held for family and friends on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 11:00am at Fruit Cove Baptist Church, 501 State Rd 13 N, Saint Johns, FL 32259.
