Fernando Paule Isip, Jr. of Las Vegas, Nevada passed away on Friday, December 9th, 2022, at the age of 73. After a courageous battle against cancer, Fernando died peacefully with his loving family by his side.
Fernando was born in Lubao, Pampanga, Philippines on December 1st, 1949. He was known to those closest to him as Bong or Bobong. He came from humble beginnings, but there was never a shortage of love and ambition in his large family. He moved to Florida in 1979 where he eventually met his wife, Yolanda. After they got married, they moved to Jacksonville in 1987, where they raised their family. He was most proud of his tenure at Mac Papers until his retirement in 2005. After their children went off to college, he and Yolly moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where he lived the remainder of his life.
Fernando was best known for his love for God and family. Throughout his life, he remained steadfast in his faith and was dutiful to the church, Iglesia Ni Cristo. He lived for his family, especially his grandchildren. They brought him much joy when they sang karaoke or played games together.
When he entered a room, everyone gravitated towards him due to his effortless charm and storytelling. As the consummate host, he always opened his home to entertaining friends and family through his love of cooking Kapampangan cuisine and lively humor.
Because of his modest childhood, Fernando’s proudest accomplishment was the life he built for his family. He showed his thankfulness for his blessings in life through his kindness and generosity to others.
Fernando is survived by his devoted wife of 39 years, Yolanda; his children Fernando (Sugar) Isip, IV of Washington, DC, Macaria (Dennis) Escartin of Nashville, TN, Pamela Isip of Chicago, IL, and grandchildren: Jaelyn, Kaia, Elijah, Asher, and Avery. He leaves four siblings who remained close throughout his life, Anastacio (Nellie) Isip, Ofelia (Victor) Dionisio, Rosa (Romeo) Macapinlac, Aurora (Fernando) Conde. There are so many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends that will hold special memories of him. He is preceded in death by his parents Macaria and Fernando Isip, Sr., sisters Estelita Torres, Soledad Fernandez, and Adoracion Layug.
The family extends our sincere thanks to the University of Chicago nurses and doctors for their exceptional care and unwavering support.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, December 16th, and 10:00 am – 12:00 pm on Saturday, December 17th. A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, December 17th at noon with the burial to follow. Location: Oaklawn Chapel, 4801 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32207.
