He was born on December 13, 1941, to Jesse Reynolds and Sally Sweat Reynolds in Jacksonville, Florida, and lived his entire life in Duval County. Edward was married to Paulette King Reynolds for 57 years. He was a Christian who lived his life by example. Edward Reynolds graduated from Andrew Jackson High School, where he played football as a right guard wearing jersey number 60 for the Tigers. Following high school, Edward enlisted into the Air National Guard where he served his country for 35 years with the ranking of Senior Master Sergeant. Following his retirement, he received a letter of commendation from US President Bill Clinton. During his retirement years, he worked part-time with NAPA. As a hobby, Edward loved to hunt in his early years. He proudly displays three prize deer.
Edward Reynolds was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Paulette; son, Jimmy Reynolds (Kim); brother-in-law, Rhett King (Jackie); grandchildren, Hunter Reynolds and Macy Reynolds; nieces, Cheryl, Teresa and nephew, Daryl.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 11801 San Jose Boulevard, Jacksonville, Florida.
Public Visitation 10am-11:30 am
Service 11:30 am
Military honors ceremony will at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road Jacksonville, Florida 32218 at 2:00 pm. Arrival for vehicle stage at 1:30 pm.
There will be no funeral procession from the funeral home to National Cemetery.
Please feel free to go to both or either one.
Please no flowers, as they can not be taken to cemetery. Potted plants or plants for the ground are acceptable for Paulette to have at home. Or donation to a charity of your choice.
