Edward Sylvester Adams, age 79, passed away on December 22, 2023, in Jacksonville, FL. Edward dedicated 49 years of his life as a Machine Mechanic at Swisher International leaving a memorable mark with his hard work and expertise.
Beyond his professional life, Edward was a man of diverse interests. He was a connoisseur of strong drinks and a lively party-goer. His enthusiasm for watch and knife collecting was a testament to his appreciation for craftsmanship. In his younger days, he achieved a black belt in judo, and obtained his scuba certification showcasing both discipline and commitment. He also had a creative side, dabbling in guitar playing, and photography. As a Jaguars football fan, he cheered passionately for his team. Edward’s intellectual prowess shone through his love for Sudoku and Billiards, games that challenged his mind and brought him joy. Above all else, his unwavering passion was dedicated to his family.
Predeceased by his Parents Dena Kemp and Edward Adams Sr., he is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Gloria Adams. His legacy lives on through his daughter Hope Ferguson (Greg Yarbrough), Son-in-law Kurt Ferguson, and granddaughters Kaile (Joe Stiles), Karyl (Coal Ferguson), and Khloe (Austin Lutz); Sister and Brother in-law, Sandy and Robert Hannan, Sister Carrie Spires, and many cousins.

A visitation for Edward will be held Friday, December 29, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205. A funeral service will follow the visitation on Friday, December 29, 2023 at 3:00 PM at the funeral home. A committal service will follow at Riverside Memorial Park.
