Dorothy E. Wilson

Dorothy E. Wilson, age 93, passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2023. Dorothy was born on March 30, 1930 in Greenville, SC to John William Snipes and Mittie Etta Sims Snipes. She married Harry Leon Wilson on December 9th, 1949. Dorothy attended West Jacksonville Baptist Church.

Dorothy's hobbies and interest included watching her favorite TV shows, doing word search puzzles, going out to eat at her favorite restaurants and playing with her great-grandchildren. Dorothy was known as loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be deeply and sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents John William Snipes and Mittie Etta Snipes; and her husband Harry Leon Wilson. She is survived by her two daughters and son-in-laws Connie Hazelwood and Steve Hazelwood and Jeanne Rayle and Charles Rayle; one son, Wayne Wilson; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

A visitation for Dorothy will be held Wednesday, June 14, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205. A funeral service will occur on Wednesday evening at 7:00 PM at the funeral home. A committal service will occur Thursday, June 15, 2023 at 9:00 AM at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218.
