Dennis E. Wilson

Dennis Eugene Wilson, age 73 of Jacksonville, FL passed away October 2, 2023. He was born in Yulee, FL on May 15, 1950 to James Dennis Wilson and Cleo Williams. Dennis graduated from Paxon High School, became a drill sergeant after he joined the United States Marine Corps on June 6, 1967 and served in Vietnam before leaving the Corps on July 25, 1980.

He loved to cook, have family gatherings, watching the Jacksonville Jaguars, making people laugh and let’s not forget his lottery scratch offs.

Dennis is survived by his sons, the oldest, Dennis E. Wilson, Jr., Michael Wilson and Michael Gunter; daughters, Sherry Wilson, Alicia Wilson and April Robinson; sisters, Helen Wilson and Katherine Wilson; brother, Alton Wilson; a host of nieces, nephews and grandchildren; and his ex-wife and best friend, Alice Wilson.

Preceded in death by father, James A. Wilson; mother, Annie Cleo Wilson (Williams); brothers, James Wilson, John Wilson and Richard Wilson; and son, Sandtonio Wilson.

The family would like to give a Special Thanks to the team at UF Health for providing our loved one with wonderful care, Mike and Tony Angelo at Orange Park Auto Mall, and all our friends and family for their support during this time.

A visitation for Dennis will be held Thursday, October 12, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205. A graveside service will occur Friday, October 13, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218.
