He was born to Gustaf and Hannah Benson on August 8, 1927.
David Benson served honorably in the United States Army in 1954, receiving the National Defense Service medal.
David Benson is remembered for his strength and relaxed confidence, his ready smile and good humor. His family will miss him very much.
David Benson is predeceased by his loving wife, Becky Benson, and parents Gustaf and Hannah Benson. He is survived by his nephew, Gary Benson (Diane) and step-children Steve Malone and Patty McGee (Mike).
David's family will be receiving friends during a visitation at 10 am on Saturday May 4, 2019 at Hardage-Giddens Greenlawn funeral home 4300 Beach Blvd Jacksonville, FL 32207. A celebration of life will be held at 11 am on Saturday May 4, 2019, also at Greenlawn funeral home. His committal service will follow immediately after the celebration in the chapel at Greenlawn cemetery with Army Honors.
