After a long battle with breast cancer, Cynthia ‘Cindy’ Phillips Lindsey passed away peacefully in her home early Sunday morning, June 21, 2020 @ 5:28 am.
Cindy retired from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida after nearly 36 years of service. She was a dedicated employee that loved to give hugs to everyone. Cindy’s home on the St. Johns River was her sanctuary. She loved having family and friends over – making memories – on “her river!” Cindy was also a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. Cindy is predeceased by her mother, Dorothy Walton; her father, Vince Walton Jr, and her first husband, Mickey Phillips.
Cindy is survived by her spouse, Ira (Sonny) Lindsey of St. Augustine, FL; her son, Denny Phillips (Toni Phillips) of Middleburg, FL; her two grandsons, Austin Phillips and Jeremiah Phillips, both of Middleburg, FL; her sister, Kay Morse of Etowah, NC and her brother, Vince Walton of Winter Park, FL. Additionally, Cindy is survived by two step-sons, Chris Lindsey of Jacksonville, FL and Scott Lindsey of St. Augustine, FL along with many step-grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors from 5-7pm on Friday, June 26, 2020 at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin. A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday morning at 10am followed by committal in Penny Farms Cemetery located in Green Cove Springs FL.
In the spirt of social distancing and for the safety of all, seating will be limited, and all attendees will be required to wear a mask. The service will be Live Streamed.
