Charles Raines

Charles Claybon Raines, 80, was born January 8, 1931 in Johnston County, NC. He was the only child to Claybon and Lydia Raines. He went home to be with the Lord on July12, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. He was retired from Carrier Corporation as a credit manager and then he worked for Drummond Press for five years. He was the head usher at Southside Assembly of God for fifteen years and was presently a member of Calvary Worship Center.

He is survived by his best friend and wife Myrna, one son Purney Raines (Pat) of Okeechobee, FL. One daughter, Charlene Renee Raines of Jacksonville, FL, three grandsons, Braxton Raines of Jensen Beach, Trevin and Kelsey Raines of Atlanta, two aunts, Edna Bradshaw ( John) and Ruth Hinton of Durham, NC, one uncle, D.J Smith ( Sarah ) of Durham, NC, as well as many nieces and nephews and numerous friends. Visitation will be held at Hardage Giddens Funeral Home 729 S. Edgewood Ave. Jacksonville, FL. 32205 from 5:30pm-7:30pm.Funeral Service will be held at Hardage Giddens Funeral Home 4315 Main St. Jacksonville, FL. 32206. Interment will be at 11 A.M. at Evergreen Cemetery 4535 Main St. Jax. FL. 32206, Gate #1.Pastor Frank Mays and Pastor Paul Johnson will be officiating.
