Carl G. Wilson Sr.

Carl G. Wilson, Sr., age 81, passed away October 31, 2023. He was born in Augusta, GA on January 8, 1942 to Dewey William Wilson Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Deas. He married his lifelong love, Dianne Briner Wilson on June 27, 1959.

Carl was a long resident of Jacksonville, moving here in 1958. After Carl graduated high school, he started working as an automotive electrician and continued with Peavy Brothers for 38 years before retiring. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing and especially being with his family, he also loved to tell jokes to make you laugh. Carl had a fun loving spirit with a big heart.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Dianne Wilson; daughters, Barbara Hail (Bill) and Dina Tyler (Todd); son, Carl Wilson, Jr. (Kim); grandson, Travis Chasez (Amy); granddaughter, Kimberly Dodson (Trent); great-grandson, Gavin Chasez (Susie); great-granddaughters, Makayla Chasez and Dalyla Chasez; great-great-grandson, Vincent Chasez; and sisters, Dorothy Rosier, Joyce Golfman and Patricia Jacquette; and also numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Preceded in death by father, Dewey Wilson, Sr.; mother, Mary Deas; sister, Elizabeth Thigpen and brother, Dewey Wilson, Jr.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, November 10, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205.
