Thursday, February 20, 2020, Jesus welcomed a faithful prayer warrior home. Betty Faircloth was born in Gainesville, Fl., on March 22, 1932, and completed her time on earth in Callahan, Fl. Loved ones present to greet her were her husband Wilson Faircloth Sr., her parents, George Lee Sr. and Effie Mae Hodges, her brothers, James, William, and George Hodges Jr., and her sisters, Mildred Gladden, Ruby Marguerite Horne, Mary Llewelyn Rinehart, Sammette Henderson, Cathy Hodges and Judy Berghman. Left on earth to love and remember her are her sons, Wilson Jr., George, and William Faircloth, their families and her siblings, John Hodges Sr., Bernice Williams, Sarah Truax, Donald Hodges Sr., and Kandayce Jones, along with her extended family.
Betty was a wonderful wife, daughter, mother, sister and friend. Over her lifetime, she was employed at Duval Medical Center, Winn Dixie, Publix, and Wendy’s, where she worked for over 25 years. Her favorite hobby was people... She loved people and being with people. After retiring from work outside the home, she found her true calling. Betty was called to pray. Most days, she prayed a minimum of 6 hours; and still, she would ask God’s forgiveness for anyone’s needs that she may have missed, and then ask Him to bring their names to mind so that she could pray for them. As strong as her prayer life was, equally as remarkable was the amount of time she spent reading and studying her Bible.
Betty truly loved and served her Lord Jesus Christ. She was in church most anytime the doors were open. It didn’t matter where she was or who was around, whenever she met someone new, she’d ask, “Do you know the Lord Jesus?” Then she’d say, “I do” and share a small tidbit about how good God was to her. Today from Heaven, Betty’s spiritual legacy lives on and challenges us… Who will take her place, praying for us and spreading the Good Word? By the way, do you know her Lord Jesus? If not, we’d love to introduce you to Him. We miss and love you, Betty Faircloth.
