Bert H. Gibson (Hoot), 83, from Jacksonville, Florida passed away on May 31, 2022.
He is preceded in death by his parents Charles Bert Gibson and Edna Mae Gibson.
He is survived by his wife Barbara Gibson and his children LaVona Gibson Hyde, Bruce Gibson (Michelle), Brian Gibson (Tracy), Rhonda Johnson (Chris), Brett Gibson, Kirk Gibson, and his 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
He retired from the railroad CSX where he was a locomotive engineer for 48 years. In his younger years, he served in the United States Navy. He was a lifelong football fan of the Tennessee Volunteers who enjoyed eating at his favorite restaurant, Joseph’s Pizza, on Main St. He will be missed by many.
Funeral Service will be held 2pm Saturday June 11, 2022 with 1 hour prior visitation at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd Jacksonville, Florida 32205. Interment will follow at Riverside Memorial Park.
