Arthur Smith

Arthur Smith passed away on August 4, 2012. Arthur is survived by his loving wife Shirley; children, Shawn Smith, Sally Winfield, Lisa Atkinson and Douglas Bell; grandchildren, Dylan, Rebekah-Drew, Daniel, Alexander, Toby and Julian. Arthur was born on June 8, 1932 in Dublin, Ireland but as a child, grew up in Retford, England. He was educated at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the British Army. Arthur moved to America with the New England Tea Men (professional soccer team) and came to Jacksonville in 1980 with the Jacksonville Tea Men. He was employed by Tom Bush BMW for twenty-five years until his retirement in 2009. Arthur was deeply loved by family and friends and will live in our hearts forever. Family will greet friends for visitation on Thursday, August 9, 2012 from 6 – 8 pm at Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Chapel, 4801 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, FL. The funeral will be Friday at 11 am at the Oaklawn Chapel.
