Anthony Joseph Colley, age 61, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away Monday, June 29, 2015. Tony was born in Augusta, Georgia in 1953. He graduated from Aquinas High School in 1971 and went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Georgia.
Tony worked for Republic National Distributing Company for over 26 years as a business development manager/analyst. He began his long career with the RNDC in Pensacola, Florida and transferred to the Jacksonville office in 2000. Tony worked on complex tasks for the company, combining his sales background with his analytical thinking and computer skills to produce custom projects and reports which benefited multiple groups within the organization.
Tony enjoyed spending time with his family, cheering on the Jacksonville Jaguars and Georgia Bulldogs, relaxing at the beach at Tybee Island, riding in his golf cart, anything that had to do with computers or gadgets, and playing with his grandchildren. Tony was a loving husband, loyal brother and son, supportive and caring father, and joyous grandfather. Tony was a fantastic teacher and enjoyed sharing his knowledge with others.
Tony is preceded in death by his father Henry Edward Colley, and sister, Mary Colley Stewart. He is survived by his mother, Marie Langley; his loving wife of 38 years, Kathe Sheppard Colley; daughter, Katherine Rabil and her husband Chris; daughter, Margaret Rohan and her husband Dan; daughter Elizabeth Jimmerson and her husband Nate; 5 grandchildren, Natalie and Will Rabil, Drew and Julia Rohan, and Violet Berry; brothers Henry Colley, Peter Colley, Richard Colley, James Colley, and Harry Colley; sisters Cecile Dougherty and Dorothy Colley; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
The family will receive friends at Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Chapel on Monday, July 6th between 5:00 and 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 7th at 10:00 AM at Assumption Catholic Church, 2403 Atlantic Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207, with Father Jose, as celebrant. Committal to follow at Oaklawn Cemetery.
