She was born in Akron, Ohio, on June 1, 1931 to Peter and Gertrude Weil.
Ann met the love of her life Army Lt. Ben C. Rebman, Jr. in 1952 and the two exchanged letters throughout Ben’s deployment to Korea. The two were married in September 1953 immediately following his repatriation and spent sixty-two loving years together. Ann was an organized and dedicated Army wife and mother to five children. She is survived by her children Lisa Fisher (Barry), Dan (Tess), Kelly Robertson (Scott), and Clancy (Lisa), and her eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Ann was an active member of Lake Shore United Methodist, Lake Shore’s Young at Heart chorale group, United Methodist Women, and the German American Club. She was a Charter Founder of the American Family Immigration History Center and The Peopling of America Center at Ellis Island Immigration Museum, New York.
Ann was preceded in death by her husband Ben and son, Scott. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Northeast Florida Community Hospice or Lakeshore United Methodist Church.
The viewing will be held at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home (5753 Blanding Blvd. Jacksonville, FL 32244 (904) 777-5727) Sunday, June 28, from 3:00 - 6:00PM, followed by a funeral service on Monday, June 29, at 11:00AM at Lake Shore United Methodist. The burial will be at Jacksonville Memory Gardens. Arrangements are under the care of The Blanding Chapel of Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home.
