Andrew Eddie Tanner

Andrew Eddie Tanner, 35, born March 16, 1982 in Jacksonville, FL and passed away April 2, 2017. Andrew was a successful board certified physician assistant at Coastal Spine and Pain Center and Team Health where he valued helping and interacting with his patients. He was previously employed at Riverside Pain Physicians. Andrew held membership in the American Academy of Physician Assistants. In 2012, Andrew received his Masters of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Florida. His Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Medicine/Athletic Training was earned in 2006 at the University of North Florida, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Andrew graduated from Allen D. Nease High School class of 2000. Andrew had a passion for sports cars and spent many hours repairing and driving them, especially his Porsche on track days. He enjoyed outside activities including snowboarding and competing in various running events with local running clubs. He was gifted in working with his hands on home improvements and vehicles. Many meals were prepared by Andrew, as he loved trying new things in the kitchen. He had an ear and heart for playing and listening to music. Beginning at a young age, he enjoyed providing a spectacular fireworks show on major holidays. Andrew was predeceased by his father, Eddie Tanner and his grandfather, Bill Blackmon. He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Tanner; his sister, Sandy Simoneaux (Bart); his grandmother, Vonceil Blackmon; three nephews and one niece; two half-sisters; several aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends. Visitation will be held from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Friday, April 7 in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin. The Funeral Service will be held at 1:30pm on Saturday, April 8 in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin, followed by interment in Greenlawn Cemetery, 4300 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207.
