Amanda Mae Clegg Westbrook

Amanda passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at Westminster Woods on Julington Creek. In addition to being an educator with the Duval County Public Schools for many years, she was a mother, grandmother, aunt and pending great-grandmother.

Survivors include her daughters, Valerie Bennett and Karen Westbrook of Jacksonville; son, Jeff (Debbie Davis) Westbrook of Jasper Georgia; grandchildren, Cherish Bennett of Charleston, South Carolina, Megan (Val) Ayers of Cary North Carolina, Lauren Westbrook and Andrew Westbrook, of Jacksonville; great-grandson, Henry James Ayers, due 10-22-2015, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Amanda's desire was for her ashes to be scattered among the fields on the Newberry, Florida farm where she was born and raised by parents, Mary Jane (McGehee) and James Jackson Clegg, so to "lay among the phlox".

A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, November 13, 2015 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Hardage-Giddens Hendricks Chapel, 4115 Hendricks Avenue, Jacksonville, Florida. Amanda's family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Westminster Woods and Community Hospice of NE Florida for their loving care of our Mother. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Amanda's memory to the Employee Christmas Fund, Westminster Woods, 25 State Rd 13, St Johns, FL 32259.
