Aida Shunnarah Farah, 77, of Jacksonville, Florida passed peacefully into the hands of God on Friday, December 13, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. Aida was a faithful servant of Jesus, which is what guided her in her role as wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, always putting everyone’s needs above her own. She is preceded in death by her parents, George Musa Shunnarah and Jaleelah Shunnarah, and her 5 siblings, Laila Shatara, Aziz Shunnarah, Julia Mogannam, Abdullah Shunnarah, and Said Shunnarah. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Murad, her children Gregory Farah (Muna), Teresa Farah Akel (Andy), and Dena Farah, 6 grandchildren (Jessica Farah Biery (Shane), Matthew Farah (Michaela), Danielle Farah, Andrew Akel II, Anna Akel, & Jacob Akel) and 2 great-grandchildren (Kasen and Austin Biery) as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
There will be a viewing on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, from 5pm – 6:30pm followed by a trisagion service at St. John the Divine Greek Orthodox Church, 12760 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville, Florida 32246. Funeral services will begin at 10:00am on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at St. John the Divine with Rev. Dr. Nicholas G. Louh officiating. A burial service will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery, 4801 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, Florida 32207.
