It is with great sadness that the family of Robert Patrick Reilly announces his passing to eternal life on September 14, 2024. "Pat" was born on April 10, 1944 in New York City to Katharine (Pappas) Reilly and Patrick William Reilly. Pat will be remembered and loved by his wife Deborah (Debbie) Earle, daughter Renee Reilly Lackey, son-in-law Eric Lackey, granddaughters Erika Blower (Adam), Rebecca Litchfield (Jake), great-grandsons Cory and Owen, great-granddaughter Sawyer, sisters Kathleen Imbrasciano, Virginia Thidemann and his dogs Dexter and Zoey.
Pat was a graduate of Old Dominion University. He led a full life, proudly serving in the Navy and as a Police Officer (and later K9 handler) for the Norfolk Police Department in Norfolk Virginia. He owned a deli, nightclub, managed hotels, brokered food and worked as a food and beverage director in St. Thomas. Pat's final career before retiring was servicing the Military owning Virginia Military Food Services. He had a wonderful sense of humor and amused everyone with his stories. Pat enjoyed cooking, especially with his daughter. He enjoyed the beach, walking his dogs, boating, golfing, doo-wop, singing with the Corale Barber Shop, watching his Colts, and vacationing, particularly to St. Martin, Italy and Germany. Pat was a true patriot who loved his country and had a deep, love, devotion and faith in God.
The family wishes to extend our sincere love and gratitude to John and Kathy Herman, cousins Mike and Ellen Reilly and Bob DelDonna. Their support will always be remembered. We are grateful to all his friends and family for their love, calls and visits. A special thank you to the doctors, nurses and the research team at the hematology department at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville.
Friends and family will be received at Holoman and Brown Funeral Home, 1264 N Great Neck Road, Virginia Beach 23454 on October 14 between 5 pm and 8 pm. A funeral mass will be held at the Church of the Holy Family, 1277 N Great Neck Road, October 15, at 11am. The mass will be live streamed. The rosary will be recited 45 minutes before mass for those who wish to participate. Interment will follow mass at Princess Anne Memorial Park, 1110 N Great Neck Road. A luncheon will follow, location will be announced later. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mayo Clinic, Jacksonville, Fl.
