Matvey was born August 23, 1984, in Washington, D.C. He lived with his family on 5 acres in Maryland for 10 years before moving to Florida. This began his love of the outdoors. Initially, Matt loved to ride bikes and would be gone all day with friends’ “stunt” riding their BMX’s. He graduated to skateboarding and while in his teens built a half-pipe skateboarding ramp in our yard in Ponte Vedra. It became a favorite hangout spot for friends. After high school Matt continued to build and began working in construction – following in his dad’s footsteps. He also continued his love of the outdoors - fishing and hunting whenever he wasn’t working. Then his nieces were born, and Matt discovered a deep love for children – he absolutely loved having nieces. Matt continued working in construction and began his own company. He married and began his own family – he had a new love – his children Storm and Thor. He adored his kids and loved having them by his side when he was working outside. Matt was a defender of all children – he couldn’t tolerate anyone doing anything to harm a child. He had a big heart, especially for little ones. Matt is remembered and described by his friends as having the biggest heart and was always giving and doing for others. Matt is a special soul that is gone from this earth too soon. While we know without a doubt that Matt is with God, we miss having him here with us. To know Matt was to love Matt. Matvey is survived by; his mother, Heidi, his father Dennis, his sister Nikki (Agusto), his brother Wes (Kelsey), his daughter Storm, his son Thor, their mother Joy Pickering, and his nieces; Shaylin, Sanaa, Sophia and TBD, his nephews Zane and Maddox, and a large extended family.
