Linda Gacy was my aunt.  She had two boys, Marc and Will, who are now grown men.   Our families, when we got together, revolved around the sisters -- Linda, Barb and Susan (my mother) -- and we would often converge at their parents' house (my grandparents).  She had a generous and friendly personality, and wanted to make sure those around her were doing well and having fun, having enough to eat, and  I always noticed that.  I liked how positive she was.

Towards the end of Linda's life, we had numerous conversations about the state of the world and found we agreed on a lot.  I treasured those chats.  And I treasured her.

May she rest in peace.


My Aunt whom I was named after...  She told me funny stories about the weird things I did as a child. (One time I ate some of her deodorant.) She had beautiful, thick, long hair, and she used to let me brush it. I don't think that's why I became a hairdresser in my young-adult life, but you never know. I remember her wedding to my Uncle Bill and how beautiful everyone looked.  When I became an adult she continued to share her humor and inspiration with me. I know she'll watch out for all of us from above. 

Linda Gates Gary was my aunt, who now joins her sister, Barb, and her parents in death.  Linda was a good person and a strong spirit.  I have many fond memories of wonderful family get togethers and visits of her and husband, Bill, always with big smiles and delicious food.  She and her sister, Susan (my mother) spent hours on the phone in recent months, talking about nice things and the problems of the world.  She was an excellent friend to Susan.  I spoke to her and she talked about her two grown sons, daughters in law, and treasured grandchildren, who meant the world to her. 



Mom always had a smile for everyone.  She loved both my brother and I equally, as she did her grandchildren.  She loved "fun and games" as her dad, my grandfather used to call things like Scrabble, or Oh Heck, or Yahtzee.  Glad you are with Grandpa now, but I miss you here.  Love you forever.

My brother Dale I love you man and I always much better when you're up there. No pain no sorrow and no problems everything will be alright and I miss you I really do I'm going to beat her ass in my life until the time comes for me to be there with you and that we will be friends all the way but thank you I thank you for everything you have done lov e you brother.
