James E. Rouse, 89, passed away on August 30, 2016 in Jacksonville, FL. James was born in Danville, ILL on February 25, 1927. James graduated from Danville High and received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois. He married Etta York in January 1946. James served faithfully and honorably in the U. S. Navy during World War II aboard the USS Donald W. Wolf (APD 129) and aboard the USS Ingram (APD 43). He earned and was awarded a Victory Ribbon; American Area Ribbon and an Asiatic Pacific Ribbon.
James had a passion for construction and was a skilled builder. He owned and operated his own construction company: James E. Rouse Construction. He loved boating and was a member of the Danville Yacht Club; Danville Country Club; Captains Club and Exchange Club.
James is survived by his wife: Etta York Rouse; two children: Daniel Rouse (predeceased) and Pamela Riechmann. James has 2 adult grandchildren: Matthew Cline and Amanda Riechmann.
A Funeral Service will be conducted at a date to be determined at the Old Atherton Cemetery in Danville, ILL.
