Jim was born in Bayonne, NJ on April 4, 1951. Three days after graduating high school, he joined the US Navy and began his naval career in Great Lakes, MI and was then stationed for 18 months in Guantanamo Bay.
He and Sally were married on June 10, 1975, and recently celebrated 48 years of marriage.
Jim served his country in the US Navy for 20 years as a Boatswain Mate First Class. During his career he was stationed in Pensacola, FL, Goutier, MS, Middleburg, FL and Jacksonville, FL. After retiring from the Navy, he began a second career with Pinkerton Security as an Armed Security Guard.
Jim was a member of the VFW and a Deacon at Southpoint Baptist Church. During his life he served the Lord as a devout church member and Deacon in the different communities and churches they called home. He had a passion for The Bible, Family and food.
He is survived by his children: Michael Kepler and Robert Kepler, grandchildren; Kitty Eccles, Kari Gallagher, Dylan Kepler, Michael Neal Kepler and Kate Kepler, great-grandchildren; Landon Gallagher, Forrest Gallagher and Carter Kepler.
Jim's life will be celebrated at Southpoint Baptist Church (3335 Tiger Hole Road, Jacksonville, FL) on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at 10:00am.
The following day, Wednesday August 16, 2023 at 9:00am Graveside Services will be held at the Jacksonville National Cemetery Lane # 1 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL, 32218
